About the Show
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Michael “Mikey B” Brown fell in love with radio as a child. After school, he’d finish his homework and spin tunes on his father’s record changer, telling his siblings, “One day, I’ll be on the radio.”
In 1979, after graduating high school, Mikey B and his family moved to Miami, Florida. His passion for music led him to DJ at house parties and clubs before landing his first radio break on WKAT 1360 AM, where he earned his FCC DJ license.
After WKAT changed formats, Mikey B joined WAVS 1170 AM in January 1989, where he remains a respected voice in Caribbean radio. Today, he also brings his signature energy and deep musical knowledge to Suga 95.7 FM, hosting Blazing Saturday every Saturday from 2PM to 4PM.
